How to Watch All of Outlander: Season 1 for Free

Season 2 premieres on April 9th on Starz.

If you missed the stellar first season of Starz's time-traveling historical fantasy series Outlander -- or you just want to watch it again to prep for the upcoming premiere of Season 2 -- then here's some exciting news: Starz is making the entire first season available to stream online for free.

Outlander's 16-episode first season is available to watch through Starz Play and On Demand, and through other select U.S., cable and satellite and telco affiliates. (This is dependent on your region, so check with your local cable or satellite provider.) The first season is available for free on these platforms through April 10th.

Created by Battlestar Galactica showrunner Ron Moore and adapted from Diana Gabaldon's best-selling novels, Outlander follows the adventures of Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) as she finds herself catapulted back in time 200 years, traveling from the 1940s to the 18th century Scotland highlands. There she meets Highlander Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), and finds herself drawn to him as they deal with outlaw status, claims of witchcraft and the villainous English soldier Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies).

When Outlander returns in Season 2, Jamie and Claire are arriving in Paris to try to prevent Charles Stuart -- aka history's Bonnie Prince Charlie -- from triggering the events of the Scottish uprising that led to the disastrous events of the Battle of Culloden, a defeat for the Jacobites that changed Highlander culture forever. However, there are unforeseeable complications in both the present and future that make this a harder quest than the Frasers can imagine.
