D&D Movie Is Happening

Producers are eyeing "a Vin Diesel-type" for the lead character.

It looks as though Goosebumps' Rob Letterman is going to be directing the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movie from Warner Bros.

This report comes from The Tracking Board, who also say while no casting announcements have been made, "producers are eyeing a Vin Diesel-type" for the lead character. David Leslie Jones (Wrath of the Titans) has written the script for the movie, which will feature a warrior and a band of creatures searching for a mythical treasure.

Producers Roy Lee, Stephen Davis, Brian Goldner, and Courtney Solomon will be overseeing the project, and it's being executive-produced by Allan Seman, Cate Adams, Drew Crevello, Coral Wright, and Josh Feldman.

A few years ago, Warner Bros., Hasbro and Sweetpea Entertainment had to settle a long legal dispute over who held the screen rights to a D&D film. Hasbro sued Sweetpea, and the companies compromised in an undisclosed agreement before this new project could move forward.

Rob Letterman directed last year's Goosebumps movie, and has also previously worked on Gulliver's Travels and Shark Tale.
