Heavy Spectrum Entertainment Labs' Shadow of the Beast will release in North America on May 17.
According to Matt Birch, CEO and founder of Heavy Spectrum, the team has reached a "critical point" in the game's development. Heavy Spectrum has made "significant changes" over the past few months. The team is "targeting 60 frames per second," and fine-tuning the Shadow of the Beast's combat system to focus on "optimal response times."
Aarbron in Shadow of the Beast
Aarbron—the PlayStation 4 exclusive's protagonist—underwent changes as well. Heavy Spectrum upgraded him "to the full extend of his abilities," and equipped him with "mystic artefacts" that add depth to Shadow of the Beast's gameplay. The screenshot above shows Aarbron's epic gun, a piece of the character Heavy Spectrum hasn't detailed yet.
Shadow of the Beast will be available for pre-order in the United States and Canada "soon." Stay tuned to IGN for more information as it's released.
