It's pretty amazing how quickly laptops have progressed from expensive, but ultimately underpowered, to the modern versions. Higher-end laptops have desktop-grade GPUs in them, so the tradeoff between power and portability is smaller and smaller. Prices, too, are at a point now where buying a laptop as a matter of convenience can land you a good machine at a great price.

With the insane cryptocurrency mining bubble right now, GPU prices are through the roof, so if you're after a gaming rig at a not-insane price, a laptop is a great place to start. Whether you just want something for work, school, or to replace a desktop, it's a great time to pick up a laptop. We'll be updating this list throughout the year with the best deals, so make sure to keep checking back.

Dell Deals
Latitiude

Dell New Latitude 5590 for $1269

For just under $1300 you get a solid computer that will do almost everything you need, workwise, and since it has an 8th-gen Intel processor with Intel UHD 620 Graphics. The best part is you can upgrade to an M.2 PCIe solid state drive for just $50 more. If you think your SSD is fast now, you're wrong. I'm sorry, you just are. An M.2 PCIe drive will absolutely blow it out of the water.

Inspiron 15 3000 $179.99 with code TENOFF

Sometimes you just need a computer that gets the job done, and does it happily. For less than two-hundred bucks, you can get yourself a genuine laptop from Dell. The specs are low, but the price is unbeatable, and if you want a laptop to supplement your desktop, or just want a Windows computer on the cheap, this is a fantastic place to start.

DDell

Dell XPS 15 for $1449.99

Dell displays are among the best around, and the Dell XPS 15 has a gorgeous display that goes almost to the very edge, making this 15-inch laptop much smaller than it should be. It's almost magical.

-----------------------------

Alien

Alienware 13 $989 with code TENOFF

The Alienware 13 is one of my favorite computers, and while its available in a ton of different configurations, this one is a great place to start on your journey to the very-near sci-fi future. This configuration has a dedicated GTX 1050 GPU and an Intel Core i5-7300HQ.

-----------------------------

Inspiron15

Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Gaming $699

This Inspiron 15 from Dell has a better GPU than the entry level Alienware on sale right now. In fact, this is somewhat of a sleeper: it doesn't have the flash and design punch-ups of the Alienware, but it's packing a GTX 1050 4GB GPU and Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, all for a hair under $700. That's a lot of bang for your buck. This might be the best deal on a laptop right now, pound for pound.

GamingInspiron

Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming for $829

The Inspiron 15 7000 is the next step in the Inspiron Gaming line, and it's a nice upgrade from the 5000. It certainly looks the part of a gaming laptop, and the display is incredibly thin. Almost like a razor. But don't try to shave with it!

-----------------------------

Alien15

Alienware 15 for $1429 with Code TENOFF

Alienware laptops are among the most attractive and best-built going, and this Alienware 15 is a beast. Featuring an Intel Core i7-7700HQ and GTX 1060 6GB and a fantastic display, this is a solid laptop at a great price.

-----------------------------

XPS13

Dell XPS 13 for $799

Do you want a super-thin laptop that you can toss into your bag and forget about? Not permanently, just while you're carrying it. The XPS 13 is a mere 2.7 pounds, which is only a little more than your arms weigh.

Asus

ASUS VivoBook Gaming Laptop for $899

This super-thin gaming laptop from ASUS is packing a GTX 1050 4GB and an Intel Core  Intel Core i7-7700HQ, but when closed it's less than an inch thick. Madness, right? Wrong. Engineering.

-----------------------------

Aorus

Aorus X5 Gaming Laptop for $1999

This total monster of a laptop features a 2880x1620 G-Sync enabled display, an overclocked Intel Core i7 6820HK and a GTX 1070 8GB graphics card. This is a serious gaming machine. It also has an RGB keyboard, which is unbelievably crucial for gaming.

------------------------------

Pred

Acer Predator 15 for $1769

I'm a huge fan of the Acer Predator line. They're really solid performing, comfortable computers with lots of nice features. This one has a G-Sync enabled display pushed by a GTX 1070 8GB graphics card.

-------------------------------

413IL7B3FnL

MSI GL62M for $929

The MSI gaming laptop line is another solid balance between power and price. This deal gets you the GL62M for less than a thousand bucks, and there's an Intel i7-7700HQ hiding under that mean looking chassis. That's a mean chip. Don't make it mad!
