Devil May Cry Director Says His New Game Is Almost Finished

"The development of the project is now under climax."

Hideaki Itsuno has apologised once more for not revealing his new game - but the Devil May Cry and Dragon's Dogma director now promises that the project is coming to a close, hopefully meaning we'll see an announcement soon.

Itsuno took to Twitter to say that the "development of the project is now under climax":

Itsuno first announced that he was working on a new game almost two years ago, and apologised to fans after its no-show at E3 2017.

That hasn't stopped the internet from working itself into a frenzy over what the final product might be. The most prevalent opinion is that the game will be a return to an internally developed Devil May Cry, with alleged leaks and rumours stoking that particular fire.

It would make some sense alongside the recently-announced Devil May Cry HD Collection, comprising the first three games in the series and arriving on March 13, 2018.
