Fortnite: How to Unlock the Leadership Skill

This article will show you how to unlock the Leadership Skill in Fortnite.

First, it's important to know that there is a total of 4 classes in Fortnite:

In order to assign characters from particular classes as your Primary Hero or add them to your squad, you'll need to unlock the Leadership Skill for that class.

The first heroes Fortnite starts you with are Rescue Trooper Ramirez and BASE Kyle, so you'll be able to play with Soldier and Constructor class heroes without having to do this.

But if you want to use any of the heroes that fall into the Ninja or Outlander category, then you'll need to unlock that class' Leadership Skill.

Choose the Class that you would like to unlock the Leadership Skill for.

• Select Skills.
• Select Skill Tree: Tier 1
• Navigate to the left until the Skill Tree divides into 5 branches.

From top to bottom the branches represent: 

• Soldier (Red)
• Constructor (Blue)
• Defender/Survivor/Squad Skills and Skill Tree: Tier 2 unlock
• Outlander (Grey)
• Ninja (Orange)

Follow the branch that represents the Class you're trying to play with and look for the Nodes that represent their Leadership Skill:

• Ninja - Shuriken icon
• Outlander - Treasure Chest icon

Leadership Skill Nodes are larger in size than most other skill nodes.

Once you've found the Leadership Skill Node for the class you want to unlock, you can start using Skill Points to unlock a path that leads to it.

Remember, each Leadership Skill has prerequisites. Click on the node to see what they are and make sure you meet them.
