Stranger Things Star Joins Netflix's Carmen Sandiego Series


Where in the world will you be in 2019 for the show's premiere?

Netflix has officially announced a new Carmen Sandiego animated series is arriving in 2019.

As previously reported, Jane the Virgin actress Gina Rodriguez will voice Carmen Sandiego. But Netflix has revealed that Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard will join her on the animated show as Player, an accomplice and friend.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is producing Carmen Sandiego. Netflix has ordered 20 episodes that will be 22 minutes in length.

The synopsis for the animated series is below:

"Carmen Sandiego is back and ready for a new crop of international capers packed with thrilling adventure and intrigue. This fresh take presents an intimate look into Carmen's past where viewers will not only follow her escapades but also learn WHO in the world is Carmen Sandiego and WHY she became a super thief."

Duane Capizzi, who's previously worked on Transformers: Prime and The Batman, will serve as the showrunner on Carmen Sandiego, as well as a co-executive producer. CJ Kettler is also an executive producer, while Caroline Fraser is in charge of production.

The animation studio on Carmen Sandiego is DHX Media.
