Star Wars: The Last Jedi: Luke Isn't What Rey Expects

The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15, 2017.

Daisy Ridley shared very, very few details about Star Wars: The Last Jedi during the film's Star Wars Celebration panel, but it should be enough to get fans excited about the 2017 movie.

Ridley promised that the Rian Johnson movie will go "deeper into Rey's story," but also hinted that what comes after the end of The Force Awakens won't be exactly what her character expects.

"Rey has a certain expectation as to what she might be getting from Luke and what that might entail. And as a lot of people might know, it's difficult when you meet your heroes because it might not be what you expect," Ridley teased.

For those who forgot, Star Wars: The Force Awakens ended with Rey arriving on Ahch-To to entreat the reclusive Luke Skywalker to return to civilization and help.

The film ends with her extending her lightsaber to him and him not saying a word, which is about as big a cliffhanger as they come.

While we anxiously await to find out whether one or both of them are "the last Jedi," Ridley said she is most looking forward to what we all want to hear next: "I think what we're all very excited for: Luke's first words!"

There's plenty more coming out about Star Wars: The Last Jedi from Celebration, including how Carrie Fisher helped write Leia's dialogue in the new film. Check out more of IGN's coverage of this epic Star Wars convention below.
