The new season of the Pokemon anime television series, which pulls from Pokemon Sun and Moon, as well as the next animated movie, will premiere on Disney XD in the United States, The Pokemon Company International has announced.
Disney XD has signed a multi-year distribution deal to air not only the 20th season of series and next movie, but also all 19 prior seasons and 15 movies.
The next season of the hit anime, dubbed Pokemon the Series: Sun & Moon, sees Ash and his pal Pikachu traveling to Alola, the new region featured in the latest pair of Nintendo 3DS games, which release tomorrow. Check out the trailer below for a look at the tropical adventures that await the series' iconic young trainer, ahead of the series premiere early next year.
Before then, on December 5, Disney XD will debut Pokemon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel. In addition to airing the new animated feature, the network will provide an early look at the upcoming TV season by debuting the first two episodes.
