Mass Effect Andromeda Trailer Teases Game's Time Period

Join the Andromeda Initiative today.

EA has released a new teaser trailer for Mass Effect Andromeda, teasing the information about the game set to come on N7 Day later this week. But the trailer also points to just how far into the future the latest Mass Effect adventure takes place.

The latest teaser, asking fans to join the Andromeda Initiative, takes a last glimpse at Earth as a course is chartered for "a future beyond the Milky Way." Check out the teaser below:

The trailer's voiceover, while describing the journey that is about to be embarked upon notes that the next adventure will be in "a future that begins 600 years from where we stand." As Eurogamer notes, that line could suggest the time difference between Andromeda and the original Mass Effect trilogy.

More Mass Effect Andromeda information is set to be revealed on N7 Day — November 7 — and the trailer invites fans to join the Andromeda Initiative to stay on top of the latest happening with the 2017 game.

Andromeda's release date may have accidentally been given away by a retail listing, while Sony showcased the game running on PlayStation 4 Pro at the console's reveal event.

Mass Effect art and comic books are also on the way from Dark Horse next year.
