How to Catch Pokemon with QR Codes

Pokemon Sun and Moon lets you scan in QR Codes to register Pokemon to the Pokedex or in some cases, receive that Pokemon within the game!

Players will unlock QR code patterns of Pokemon they catch, allowing them to share these QR codes with others. Scanning a QR code pattern unlocked by another player registers this Pokemon in your Pokedex and unlocks information, such as location.

If you scan 10 QR codes, you'll be able to use an Island Scan that will locate a Pokemon on the island you're on that is not a part of the Alolan Pokedex. See our List of Island Scan Pokemon to see all the possibilities!

Use the QR codes below to register these Alolan Pokemon into your Pokedex:

All of the legendary pokemon, along with Type: Null and Silvally, do not get their own QR code.
