Despite the drama surrounding Deadpool 2 with the recent departure of director Tim Miller, 20th Century Fox reportedly already has plans for a third film in the franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is so confident in the comic-inspired franchise starring Ryan Reynolds that it's already planning a Deadpool 3 and is getting ready to begin its search for a suitable director.
In addition, the outlet's sources claim the story of the film will incorporate the X-Force. This isn't too surprising given Reynold's comments earlier this year that his next priority is getting an X-Force film off the ground.
The X-Force comic has a more mature tone than X-Men, and centers around a team of superhero mutants led by Cyclops' son from the future, Cable. Deadpool 2 is set to introduce Cable, and conflicting opinions over who should play the character was one of the reasons Miller left the project.
The search for a new director to helm Deadpool 2 is currently underway. John Wick director David Leitch, Luke Cage director Magnus Martens and The Martian writer Drew Goddard were all said to be in the running. According to THR, Leitch is now in negotiations with Fox to helm.
