Special swords, golden chocobos, and much more.

Get ready to hop into your car and party with the boys because Final Fantasy XV is coming soon.

If you need to get up to speed, check out our Final Fantasy XV preview.

As with most major releases, multiple versions of Final Fantasy XV will be available when it launches on November 29. Plus, if you're planning on pre-ordering, some retailers offer much more bang (and exclusive goods) for your buck than others. If you're a more casual Final Fantasy fan, the standard $60 version will be just fine, but we're here to break down all the various pre-order bonuses and exclusives if you want something more.

We have a test ready to determine whether the Deluxe Edition is right for you. If Final Fantasy XV's multiple delays  caused you actual, physical pain, or if you have a Final Fantasy wall scroll, it's probably safe to pick this one up. It comes with:

  • Final Fantasy XV
  • Exclusive Steelbook
  • Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV film
  • Masamune Sword DLC (same as the Day One Edition)
  • Outfit: Royal Raiment
  • Recolor: Platinum Leviathan

If you're a big Final Fantasy fan who's decided to go digital, you're not out of luck. The Digital Premium Edition comes with:

  • Final Fantasy XV
  • Final Fantasy XV Season Pass

Last month, Square Enix announced that the season pass will include an online co-op mode, as well as three expansion packs focusing on Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto. According to Square, "Each episode allows players to take control of one of Noctis' comrades in all-new adventures that offer unique play styles tailored to each character. Players can explore previously unseen areas filled with new monsters, and even obtain weapons that can later be used in the main game."

Final Fantasy XV: Ultimate Collector's Edition

Price: $270

The most difficult part of nabbing this edition will be actually finding one. Only 30,000 were made, and it's sold out virtually everywhere. Many people lucky enough to secure one are selling them off on sites like eBay. Still, if you somehow find one, here's what's included:

  • Final Fantasy XV
  • All extras from the $90 Deluxe Edition
  • Hardback art book
  • Additional steelbook with Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV anime series and soundtrack
  • Noctis Play Arts Kai figure with exclusive weapon

Pre-Order Bonuses

Pre-ordering Final Fantasy XV from major retailers gets you access to the Day One Edition. Inside each box is a code for the Masamune, a weapon that has appeared in numerous Final Fantasy games. Perhaps its most famous wielder is Sephiroth, the primary villain of the beloved Final Fantasy VII.
