The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence has been named the world’s highest-paid actress for the second consecutive year.
The actress, known best for her role as Katniss Everdeen in Lionsgate's aforementioned film series, topped Forbes' list with $46 million. Last year, Lawrence starred in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2, which is a large contributor to the actress' massive payday. In addition, Variety notes that she received a sizable advance for her role in the upcoming movie Passengers. Lawrence also appeared as Mystique in this year's X-Men: Apocalypse.
Meanwhile, Melissa McCarthy placed second with $33 million. The actress, who just recently starred in The Boss and Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot, had the biggest year-over-year increase, enjoying a $10 million bump from last year. Rounding out the top three was last year's number 2, Scarlett Johansson, who earned $25 million.
