TWD Alums on How Their Characters Would Respond to Negan

Spoilers: probably not well.

There have been plenty of villains in The Walking Dead's first six seasons, but none of them come close to Negan. Making his debut in the Season 6 finale and holding the fate of several key characters in his hand, Jeffrey Dean Morgan's new Big Bad isn't someone to be trifled with.

That's a problem for the current lineup of The Walking Dead characters, but could someone who didn't make it this far in the story have been a good asset to them had they stayed alive? That's the question we posed to several gone (but not forgotten) cast members who attended Universal Studios Hollywood's The Walking Dead attraction opening event.

Scott Wilson on The Walking Dead

Scott Wilson doesn't have high hopes for how Hershel would hold up against Negan and the Saviors, but he might be some help for Judith.

"I would think I would want to just stay with the kids," he said with a laugh. "The kids will be protected. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens the first episode of [Season] 7."

Lizzie and Mika were trouble when they were alive, but Brighton Sharbino thinks that actually could be something that Rick & Co. used to their advantage.

"Lizzie would go all crazy and stuff. Maybe, who knows [she would be a good asset]," she said.

The more likely alternative, Sharbino and Kyla Kenedy said, was that their sister characters would run for cover.

"They'd probably be hiding. They probably would be under a tree hiding," said Kenedy. Sharbino added, "I would think running."

Michael Traynor on The Walking Dead

Nicholas probably would have been pretty useful against Negan, Michael Traynor argued -- it was zombies he had a problem with.

"Nicholas, in the great coward's defense, he was good with humans. He almost took out Glenn, and Glenn's a wily dude," said Traynor. "It was just the walkers that unnerved him. It was the whole undead shambling mounds with the guts coming out of you saying 'mmm you're tasty.' Potentially [he would have been helpful with Negan], which makes me even hate him more. A few more minutes, maybe Glenn would have had a solution, you would have been fine."

The Walking Dead attraction is open at Universal Studios Hollywood. The Walking Dead: Season 7 is slated to premiere in the fall. Check out our Season 6 review.
