DC Comics and Mattel have announced a He-Man and ThunderCats crossover miniseries scheduled to debut in October.
The six-part comic book series will be published monthly beginning on October 5. "For everyone out there who took different action figures and teamed them up to take on the world, this one's for you," co-writer Rob David said.
David, who is the Masters of the Universe creative lead, will write the series alongside supervising producer Lloyd Goldfine. Batman and Teeange Mutant Ninja Turtles artist Freddie E. Williams II will take on the interiors and cover art.
The series will set ThunderCats villain Mumm-Ra on a mission to acquire He-Man's Sword of Power in an effort to take down the ThunderCats. His "dimension-spanning scheme" ends up sparking a major crisis that brings together Lion-O, Cheetara, Tygra, Panthro, WilyKit, and WilyKat with He-Man, Battlecat, Teela, Man-At-Arms, and the rest of the Masters of the Universe for the first time.
