Steve Rogers is heading home to New York for his 75th anniversary — or at least, a statue of him will.
USA Today has revealed that a statue commemorating Captain America will be unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 before touring the U.S. and eventually landing permanently in Brooklyn, New York's Prospect Park.
A dedication ceremony for the 13-foot bronze statue will be held in Brooklyn on August 10. Emblazoned with a Steve Rogers quote from Captain America: The First Avenger ("I'm just a kid from Brooklyn."), the statue features Captain America in a pose with his shield raised according to the concept art given to USA Today.
Those interested in keeping up with Captain America's trip around the country can stay tuned to Marvel's social media accounts, which will update followers with the statue's location. And the designers behind the statue, Comicave Studios, will also be selling a limited edition run of 750 12-inch bronze replicas as well as 100 35-inch pewter editions that are made-to-order.
Captain America's 75th anniversary has not been a quiet one for the Marvel hero, with Captain America: Civil War currently reigning as 2016's highest grossing film both domestically and worldwide, while Captain America: Steve Rogers has generated plenty of discussion only two issues into its run.
Captain America: Civil War will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD this September. And for more from SDCC 2016, stay tuned to IGN.
