EA has today unveiled EA SPORTS UFC 3, which will be available worldwide on February 2, 2018 for Xbox One and PS4.
UFC 3 will feature a new fighter animation system with over 5,000 new animations captured and rebuilt from the ground up. According to EA the new tech brings “uninterrupted fighter movement” to the game, meaning fluid footwork and seamless combinations. Strikes can now also be combined with slips and lunges so that every move can be performed while in motion, and position and stance now has an even greater effect on the impact of every strike.
EA also promises the UFC’s biggest stars will now “move and feel exactly as they do in real life”, with their fighting tendencies replicated within this new tech.
UFC 3’s new G.O.A.T. Career Mode will see players tasked with earning their spot in the UFC by starting their career in the World Fighting Alliance. Players will need to sign and re-sign unique contracts with the UFC as they move through their careers, chasing lucrative purses to spend on promoting and improving their fighters.
In UFC 3 players will be able to choose to make promotion appearances to increase hype for upcoming fights, and also interact with other fighters via an in-game social media platform, carving out a reputation as a “cool-headed legend or a notorious promoter” in the process. Big moments in your career will now be marked by “dramatic cinematic moments”, including authentic UFC programs like Bad Blood and UFC Minute hosted by Megan Olivi, plus press conferences with heated rivals.
UFC 3 will also include a selection of new multiplayer fight types, new broadcast camera angles, and a simplified submission system for new players.
EA’s previous UFC game, UFC 2, was released back in March 2016.
