Hellboy Reboot Promo Art Revealed

Rise of the Blood Queen is aiming for a 2018 release.

The first promotional art for the upcoming Hellboy reboot film has been revealed.

IGN can reveal the promo art, drawn by Hellboy artist Mike Mignola, which is current on display at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival in France. The art includes the film's current working title, Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen.

Word of the Hellboy reboot first broke last week, when Mignola revealed that The Descent director Neil Marshall was on board to helm the film with Stranger Things star David Harbour taking on the title role. The reboot is reportedly aiming for an R-rating and a horror movie style, and has the working title Rise of the Blood Queen. In the Hellboy comics, the "Queen of Blood" is a powerful British witch, also known as The Lady of the Lake. As the art and previous reports indicates, the film is aiming for a 2018 release.

In addition to Marshall directing and Harbour starring, the Hellboy reboot will be produced by  Larry Gordon, Lloyd Levin, Mike Richardson, and Phil Westgren.

Marshall and Harbour take over for Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman, who directed and starred, respectively, in two previous Hellboy films. Though del Toro wanted to make Hellboy 3, the film never came to be.
