Work on the X-Force movie is moving along, with Joe Carnahan and Ryan Reynolds reportedly co-writing the script.
According to a report on comicbook.com, Carnahan will also serve as the film's director. Reynolds is on board as executive producer in addition to his co-writing credit.
Carnahan most recently finished up work on the Uncharted movie script, calling the final product "monstrously cool."
X-Force joins the X-Men cinematic universe, and doesn't yet have a release date. Almost a year ago, Reynolds said making an X-Force movie was his top priority.
Reynolds is currently working on Deadpool 2. While the movie has seen some shake-ups in its director's chair, things seem to have settled down and the movie is moving forward. The biggest obstacle the Deadpool 2 writers have to overcome is narrowing the focus of Cable's origin story. Cable is a member of X-Force, and its first leader.
Reynolds wants X-Force to follow the ratings lead of Deadpool and more recently, Logan, and land an 'R' rating.
