Don Bradman Cricket 17 will feature women when it's released in December 2017, developer Big Ant Studios announced today.
This is the first time ever that women players and teams will be playable in Don Bradman Cricket. The game—which is known for its character creation options—will give those interested in creating playable women the same level of customization as it does for men.
"In cricket, the growth of the women's game worldwide has been exciting to watch," Big Ant Studios CEO Ross Symon said in a statement. "We wanted to do something genuine to bring gender balance to our take on the game, and we're immensely proud to be the first developer in the world to feature women in a cricket game with Don Bradman Cricket 17."
Those interested in previewing the character customization option can do so with a new update to the Don Bradman Cricket Academy app, which is now available through Steam. There, players will be able to build a bunch of characters from scratch and test out the new options.
Big Ant Studios brought in Australia's best female cricket players to "provide the movements for the in-game avatars via motion capture." The developer is dedicated to ensuring women in Don Bradman Cricket 17 are as "completely true to the sport as is possible."
More information about Don Bradman Cricket 17 will be released in the coming months. Don Bradman Cricket 17 is slated for release in December 2016.
